Paddy O’Sullivan (Bandon) has spent the past 20 years researching “The Abandoned Copper Mines of West Cork”. He has personally descended into some of these mine shafts, compiling a wonderful presentation which includes never-before-seen photographs. Some of these mines date from as early as the Bronze Age. The amazing human story around those who worked the mines, the industry which sprung up around them, the transport of the ore and much more will be covered by Paddy. The story of the sinking of the Lusitania was presented by Paddy to CAHCS last year, and everybody who attended were fulsome in praise for Paddy’s work and style of presentation. So, we look forward to welcoming Paddy back to “An Caipín” meeting room on Wednesday 2nd November, starting time 8:30pm sharp. Non-members, €5. Everybody welcome.
Also, Annual Table Quiz takes place on Friday 11th November in An Caipín Bar, starting time 9:00pm. Tables of four are welcome, with a charge of €20 per table. This is our only fundraising function, and is usually a very enjoyable night, with great prizes & lots of spots. Everybody welcome.
