Annual Table Quiz Success

Friday night 8th Nov. 2013 saw the CAHCS Annual Table Quiz being held in An Caipín.  A record 18 teams participated.  Question-master Colum Cronin thanked everybody for attending and all who contributed spot prizes, and supported the raffle which added greatly to the enjoyment of the evening.  He mentioned the ‘backroom people’ who worked hard marking the scores etc.  John Noel Murphy was singled out, as he was pivotal to the success of the evening.  Nuala Lordan, Marie and Rose Cronin, Mary Cross, Nora O’Driscoll, and society secretary Margaret Walsh were all praised for their hard work, as was host Therese Barrett/Bourke (and her staff) for their help and hospitality.  The scorekeepers agreed that the overall standard of answering was very high.  A special prize went to ‘The Craic Smoking Monkey’s’ for the most imaginative/humorous team name (though several others were in close contention for this)  The winners were ‘Nidge’s Team’ with a score of 56 marks.  Second with 54 marks were ‘The Early Birds’ and 3rd were ‘The Real McCoys’ with 52 marks.  This is CAHCS’s only fundraising effort, and we wish to thank everybody who attended and participated, in the neighbourly spirit which made the event so meaningful.  PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR IMAGES OF WINNING TEAMS.
