Evening out for CAHCS.

On Sunday evening 27th July, CAHCS members and friends made the short journey to Kilmurry. Bearing in mind the fact that the present Museum (opened in Sept 1965) will shortly be consigned to the pages of history, we thought it would be appropriate to visit and bid farewell this wonderful establishment one last time. Anthony O’Sullivan welcomed us, and guided our group through the museum. It is so obvious that the new museum which is soon to be opened, is so badly needed to adequately house the large collection of displays and artefacts. We look forward to visiting the new museum in the near future, and we wish the hard-working committee all the best of luck with their endeavours.
After leaving the museum, we headed for nearby St Mary’s Church, where the inimitable Michael M. Galvin gave us an entertaining and informative presentation on the history of the church. Then we headed to Mae Fitz’s Pub and restaurant down the road in Lissarda. There, we settled in and were served a top class meal by Jackie, Larry and their excellent staff. All in all, a very enjoyable evening out for CAHCS. (Photos by Colum Cronin)CAHCS at Kilmurry MuseumThe gospel according to Mick
